Reformation Lutheran in Exeter will host worship and a jazz concert on Sunday [Religion Digest] – Reading eagle

• Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will host an in-person jazz service on Sunday at 10 a.m. as part of Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest. There will also be an in-person worship service at 8:30 a.m. Masks are optional. At 3 p.m., there will be another jazz rendezvous, a concert with Al Rochlin, trumpet; Pete Sounders, saxophone; Paul Columbo, guitar; Mandy Mawson, bass; Rob Benton, drums; Heidi Rochlin, piano; and the Reform Choir. The 10:30 a.m. service will be streamed live on Reformation’s Facebook page and can be viewed live or later on www.Reformationlutheran.org under worship videos. Sunday school for all ages starts at 9:30 am. On Wednesday, a dinner of soup, salad and bread will begin at 5:45 p.m. in the parish hall, followed by Holden’s evening prayer at 7 p.m. (will be broadcast live) in the sanctuary, and a Lenten Bible study with the Reverend Paul Metzloff to 19h. :30 in the living room.

• Congregations of Zion and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ will worship together at 301 W. Penn Ave., Robesonia, Sunday at 10:15 a.m. in person as well as via YouTube, Facebook and phone. The Handbell Choir will sound “Great Is They Faithfulness” under the direction of Miriam Borkert. Sheri Rowe will offer a vocal solo accompanied by the Reb. Robert Masenheimer, organist. A congregational meeting of the two congregations will be held after the worship service to discuss the status of our “Advancing Together” process. Refreshments will be served after the meeting by Sion. The Wednesday evening prayer service at 6:30 p.m. will be in person, on YouTube and by phone. The Centurion, from the crucifixion scene (played by Jon Henning), will explain to a 21st century reporter (Robin Henning) why the Centurion matters when Jesus died. • Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will worship on Sundays at 9 am, with Holy Communion. Coffee and conversation will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Visitor Center and again after worship. Intergenerational Sunday school will take place at 10:15 a.m. in the parlor. The Confirmation class will meet in the social hall at 10:15 a.m. A Lenten service will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, 250 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will hold in-person worship Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday evening Lenten services will be at 7 p.m. The registered services will be available the next day on Facebook.

• Kissinger Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, will be open for prayer every Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. The public is invited to attend to submit prayer requests and pray for others.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will hold worship Sunday at 9:30 am Livestreamed worship continues on YouTube (St. John’s ELC Boyertown). Sunday school for children is at 9:30 a.m. — register at www.stjohnsboyertown.org. There will be Lenten service on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Free drive-thru, take-out meals every Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

• Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court Street, Reading, will hold three in-person Rite 1 worship services on Sunday, all including the Holy Eucharist: at 8 am a so called service (no music); at 9 am, a service for families with young children; and at 10:15 a.m., a service with music. This week it’s Sunday “make a merry noise”: a collection of loose coins will be brought for the new playground at Lauer’s Park Elementary School. Masks are optional. Parking is available at the Abraham Lincoln parking lot and the M&T Bank parking lot, both off Washington Street. Parking next to the church on Court Street is available for people with disabilities or who need assistance. Michael Molina’s Lenten series “Soup and Spirituals” continues in the parish hall after the 10:30 a.m. service. On Thursdays at 11 a.m., the Book of Common Prayer Morning Prayer Service will be held in the Red Bridge Recreation Area, weather permitting. • Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Avenue, Topton, will hold in-person worship with Holy Communion on Sundays at 9 a.m. or anytime online via YouTube or Facebook. Masks are optional. Seats are available for those who wish to wear masks, not sing and remain socially distant. There will be a blessing of baskets and eggs at the service for 50 Easter baskets which will be distributed to local families in need. Patriot House, a local veteran housing provider in the area, asked Trinity to help fill 3,000 plastic Easter eggs with candy for an Easter egg hunt. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m.

• Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, 75 Church Lane Road, Exeter Township, will hold an in-person and Zoom service on Sunday at 10.30am. It will also be available on YouTube. For more information, visit www.schwarzwalduc-pa.org.

• Bern Reformed United Church of Christ, 3196 Bernville Road, Bern Township, offers live worship on Sundays at 9:30 am, or join in from your vehicle via FM 87.9 or Facebook.

• Trinity United Church of Christ, 2449 Cumberland Ave., Mount Penn will worship at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, with Holy Communion.

• St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have two services in the sanctuary on Sundays, at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., both with Holy Communion. You can bring your own items. The 9 a.m. service will also be available on Facebook and YouTube; links can be found at www.stpaulsfleetwood.org. Worship leaders will be Tristin Farr at 9 a.m. and Sandy Renninger at 10:30 a.m. Special music at 10:30 am will be the Chancel Choir’s anthem “Remember”. The ordination installation of the Reverend John Folk, pastor, will take place at 3 p.m. at the sanctuary. There will be a Lenten service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, which will also be available online.

• Maidencreek Church, 261 Main Street, Township of Maidencreek, will hold a hybrid service Sunday at 9 am. Special music includes a solo by SaraAnn Harbonic, a clarinet solo by Maynard Koplin, a selection from the main choir with Kelli Rosenberger on flute, a piano solo by Kimberly Ayrton, as well as two congregational hymns.
