Perry: Rep. Lauren Boebert is everything she says she is – ignoring that is dangerous

I‘ve seen some stuff in nearly 40 years of watching the world for a living.

But the sheer, sustained force of the GOP US Rep. Lauren Boebert eldritch “you do that” is unlike anything I’ve ever come across.

Just about every day, Boebert occasionally posts dozens of bizarre to creepy exclamations on Twitter or Fox TV, like a pulsing Rain Bird sprinkler tapping straight into the wobbly head of the long-gone Laughing Sall outside the Fun House. from Lakeside amusement park.

What’s mind-boggling is that the media is so fed up with pointing out Boebert’s limitless sagacity, or that determined journalists are only making it worse by repeating or calling attention to anything Boebert does, all day, every day – without responsibility.

Don’t believe my conclusions that not only is Boebert not OK, but that allowing government officials to spit this stuff out, as if it makes sense or even approximates reality, actually makes the media , and everyone else, complicit in whatever Boebert is headed for.

Here are some recent highlights and observations:

Boebert: “Dear men, you will never be woman enough to be a woman.”

Pear: (I know many women who are much more than reproductive organs)

Boebert: “There are only two genders.”

Pear: (Choose carefully)

Boebert“Fentanyl is a weapon of mass destruction. It is time to aggressively tackle this crisis! »

Pear:(The leading causes of death in the United States are heart disease, cancer and COVID-19. Suicide, often by firearm, is far superior to fentanyl overdoses. But yes, after years of addiction to opioids, now would be a good time to save lives.)

Boebert: “1984 has called and they want to return to their dark, immoral, rogue and deadly totalitarian dystopian future.”

Pear: (George Orwell – “The past has been erased, the erasure has been forgotten, the lie has become the truth.”)

Boebert“It is immoral to beckon the poor and the desperate to put their lives in the hands of the cartels and come here illegally. It breaks my heart. CLOSE THE SOUTHERN BORDER!

Pear: (SEE BELOW)

Boebert“Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents captured nearly 4,000 migrants over Memorial Day weekend. More than 1,600 migrants evaded apprehension and made their way to the United States. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a “humanitarian effort”, this is a full-scale invasion!

Pear: (SEE ABOVE)

Boebert: (Quoting an endorsement from the Colorado Springs Gazette) “Boebert relates to average, hard-working Coloradans like no one we’ve seen… Primary voters in District 3 should nominate Boebert for a second term.”

Pear: (The Cheshire Cat – “We’re all mad here.”)

Boebert“Take your kids to CHURCH, not the bars.”

Pear: (RuPaul: “Drag is here to remind the culture not to take itself too seriously. It’s all an illusion.”)

Boebert: “Biden trusts Ukraine with weapons. He trusts the Taliban with weapons. He trusts Mexican drug cartels with weapons. Why doesn’t he trust law-abiding Americans with guns?

Pear: (Guns were the leading cause of death of American children in 2020)

Boebert“Pray as if everything depended on God. Live as if everything depended on you.

Pear: (Jack Handey: “To me, boxing is like a ballet, except there’s no music, no choreography, and the dancers punch each other.”)

Boebert“The same Democrats who think 18-year-olds can serve in the military but are too immature to buy guns also want 16-year-olds to vote and 6-year-olds to be able to identify as opposite sex. Make it meaningful.

Pear: (Dr. Seuss: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who care don’t matter, and those who matter don’t.”)

Boebert“You know, the American education system is in trouble when teachers are praised for talking about their sex lives but are fired if they dare to speak the name of God.”

Pear: (Nelson Mandela – “No one is born hating another person because of the color of their skin, their origins or their religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be learn to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”)

Boebert“Gasoline prices are higher than Hunter when he started sniffing parmesan cheese…and those prices are only going up.”

Pear: (Lewis Carroll – “Beware the Jabberwock, my son. Biting jaws, grabbing claws! Beware the Jubjub bird and steer clear of the frothy Bandersnatch!”)

Boebert“The Archbishop of San Francisco has announced that Nancy Pelosi will be denied the Holy Eucharist. She is probably more concerned about not being able to drink the Communion wine.

Pear: (Colorado Newsline, in an article about his disorderly conduct arrest for interfering in the arrest of teens caught underage drinking in 2015 – “Lauren (says police) then went back to saying we had him illegally arrested and that she was going to have Fox News and all the reporters in the courthouse,” the report said. The charges against Boebert were later dropped. Fox News apparently did not cover the event.)

Boebert“It took @elonmusk barely 24 hours to become a Republican to be Me Too’d. See how they’re playing this game now?”

Pear: (Elon Musk tweet Oct 28, 2021 – “Thinking about starting a new university: Texas Institute of Technology & Science.”)

Boebert“So now the term woman is too old school for Michelle Obama and she decided to start using ‘womxn’. Yes really. They erase women before our eyes!

Pear: (Michelle Obama – “When you’ve worked hard, done well, and walked through that door of opportunity, you don’t close it behind you. You go back and give others the same chances that you helped to succeed.”)

Boebert: ” It’s official. Liberals in power support killing a baby the day it is born.

Pear: (1 in 170 pregnancies fail in the last trimester, resulting in an estimated 23,000 “stillbirths” each year. Abortion restrictions could insert government restrictions into a most terrible and agonizing event in a woman’s life, even endangering a woman’s life.”

Boebert: “Perfect love dispels all fear. Love is fearless!”

Pear: (James Baldwin – “Love him and let him love you. Do you think anything else under heaven really matters?”)

Boebert“The left has gone beyond questioning man and is now questioning God’s will. Dangerous and demonic territory.

Pear: (Cheers to men and women who constantly question men and women and question a god who says: “For whatever man has a fault, he will not come near: a blind man, or a lame one, or one who has a flat nose, or any superfluous thing, or a man who has a broken foot, or a broken hand, or a crooked back, or a dwarf, or has a spot in his eye, or is affected scurvy, or that has scabs, or whose stones are broken, has a blemish of the seed of Aaron, the priest shall come near to offer the offerings of the Lord made by fire: he has a blemish; he shall not approach to offer the bread of his God.”)

Boebert“If you’ve been awake all these years, you must be tired. It’s time to take a nap. The Patriots take over.

Pear:(Everyone I know who is fighting the good fight against bigotry, hate, white supremacy, betrayal, injustice, misogyny and the transformation of the American republic into a dictatorship has never been more determined to carry on to fight.)

The peak of a few weeks of mind-numbing boebertisms? After hundreds of tweets about the stuff above, and nothing substantial about anything other than Biden red meat, immigration, and other bigoted tropes, this gem popped up a few days ago as it approached of its primary elections:

Boebert: “My 3 priorities are water, water and water. The rural CO water supply needs to be expanded, especially during times of drought. I am a champion of water policies that provide solutions, and these projects will add thousands of acre-feet of water storage.

Obviously, Boebert is drowning in his own illusion. Are we supposed to sit idly by and pretend that she is something other than everything she says and does every day? Not today.
