MARSHALL – The Christian burial mass for Dianne Eis, 78, of Marshall, formerly of Seaforth, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a CCW Rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Marshall. Visitation will continue Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Seaforth. Dianne passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD

Dianne Marie (Wurscher) Eis was born on July 17, 1944 in Vesta, to Lawrence and Gertrude (Pistulka) Wurscher. She grew up in Seaforth and attended St. Anne’s Catholic School in Wabasso. On September 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Richard “Tail” Hey. The couple farmed and raised their family on a farm near Seaforth. Dianne also worked for the Social Security Bureau, the Bremer Bank Trust Department, and Southwest Minnesota State University for nearly 20 years. Although she grew up in the city, Dianne was well suited to life on the farm. She was the link of the family and involved in social activities and family rituals. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed much of the family’s clothing, including wedding dresses for her daughters. Her faith was very important to her. Dianne was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She taught CCD and was a member of the Christian Mother group. She came from a very musical family and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Dianne was a voracious reader and enjoyed current affairs, history and other subjects. She and Dick were very social and belonged to several local organizations and clubs in Seaforth. The couple moved to Marshall in 2018 and were active members of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Eis of Marshall, daughter Renita Eis McBride of Marshall, daughter Karla (and Chad) Arends of Wabasso, son David (and Lori) Eis of Wabasso, daughter Kristen (and Dustin) Eis Cvancara from Prior Lake; grandchildren Kane McBride, Eavan McBride, Mathias (and Annemieke) Antony, Jacob Arends, Levi Arends, Noah Arends, Zac (and Tina) Eis, Brittney (and Josh) Goche, Jayden Eis, Lucas Cvancara, Gabrielle Cvancara and Victoria Cvancara ; six great-grandchildren; siblings Donald Wurscher, Richard (and Elaine) Wurscher, David (and Roxanne) Wurscher; brother-in-law David Bernardy as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude, her sister Rita Bernardy, her sister-in-law Elma Wurscher and her granddaughter Rachel Arends.

Dianne raised a strong family and lived a life of service to God, her family and her community.
